How to Talk So Kids Will Listen Workshop Modules
Johnny's teacher called you at work today... Michelle is throwing food... Jasmine hates her haircut and won't come out of her room... Marco's late for school again... Sam didn't do his homework... Jenny told a lie... and the baby's crying!
The parenting series, How To Talk So Kids Will Listen, gives parents, care providers, and teachers the in depth know how they need to be more effective with their children and adolescents, and more helpful to themselves. Concrete skills will help you cope with your child's negative feelings, engage his willing cooperation, discipline without hurting or alienating, help her develop a positive and realistic self-image, and foster a family atmosphere of love, respect, and fun.
Small Group Zoom Meetings
A maximum of 10 group members means you will have powerful community support while you are learning how to be the parent you want to be. We meet on Zoom for two hours every other week, and we get to know each other, because parenting is not meant to be done in isolation. Sessions fly by with a blend of lecture, large and small group discussion, practice worksheets/role-plays, and video. Optional reading assignments between classes give motivated participants the opportunity to dive deep into the ideas and practices of relationship based positive parenting. Importantly, the group setting holds each of us accountable for actually using the skills offered. Everyone is learning, so there is no judgment as you share your progress experimenting with new tools. I promise you will walk away with skills and confidence that will help uplift your whole family.
Modules or the Whole Series
You may register for each 3-class module separately because each skill is useful on its own. However, the sessions do build on each other, so the best (and most cost effective) way is to take a leap and sign up for the 9 class series now. The several month span gives you a chance to truly form new habits - improve the way your family functions for the long term. Also, the more of you that sign up for the whole series means a greater continuity of our virtual community.
